We made a LOT of progress yesterday, but there is still a way to go. Oh my. The house is almost cleared out, the new shop is looking good, and we have the moms going crazy with tools and pictures. Wish me luck!
We made a LOT of progress yesterday, but there is still a way to go. Oh my. The house is almost cleared out, the new shop is looking good, and we have the moms going crazy with tools and pictures. Wish me luck!
I can’t believe it’s already Tuesday! There is a LOT to be done yet. First thing this morning we are closing out at the old shop. Then, it’s on to clear out the house and meet the plumber at the new shop.
It is REALLY starting to take shape in there. It’s going to be a fantastic space for us. My new BIG baking oven arrived yesterday and I can’t WAIT to use it. It is so fancy.
I’m starting to get together some new menu items and exciting new things. Stop by and see us in progress or see the finished product on FRIDAY!
The move is going really well. I’ll see if I can get some photos up as soon as I find the camera. I’m sure anyone who was at the Bowl or Husby’s yesterday for dinner got some cheap entertainment. We had to wait until after I closed yesterday to start moving the big stuff. I think it was around 5 that we walked the big bakery case/drink cooler down the hill. I KNOW that was fun to watch. We kept having to take more pieces of glass out of it and getting more people to hold it.
All in all, we got most of the big stuff out of the old shop and there are just a few stray smaller things. Today is going to be concentrating on organizing the new place. I’m starting to get really excited. It is going to look so nice in there. It’ll be great to spend my days above ground!
Friday will be here soon!
Wowza. I honestly wouldn’t mind the rain any other day. I know we need it badly, but we’re moving big heavy equipment this afternoon. I guess if this rain is our big hitch for the move, I’m in really good shape. I’m gonna think of it that way!
Soup today is Beef with Mushroom. It’s home made by Anne of course so you know it’s awesome. Also, today is the LAST DAY in Drink’s old location. Come in and bid your adieu!
Thank goodness that whole rain/snow/yuck stopped. It was making people sour. I’m starting to think about a plan for the move. It’s a little overwhelming. BUT, it’s going to be very exciting to have the new place!
Soups today are Turkey with Dumpling and Asiago Cheese Bisque! Come and get it.
I’m gonna go ahead and call it official. I’ve got a key to the new place, and DRINK COFFEE IS MOVING!
We will be going to the old Patisserie building. It’s the white building between Moretti’s and the Door County Ice Cream Factory Scoop Shop. The last day at our current location will be Saturday, April 25th. We will have the grand re-opening Friday, May 1st!!
It’s going to be a hectic week or so. Keep checking here for moving updates. If I get REALLY good, you might even get to see photos. Don’t bank on my technological skills though. Seriously.
Soup today is Asiago Cheese Bisque. Small sugar cookies are on sale for $5.95/dozen.
Are you there Spring? It’s me, Rachel. I was starting to think Spring was a myth. I, however, did NOT wear my winter coat to walk to the shop this morning! There is hope.
Our first order with Anodyne is here. We are going to try a few different types of their coffee before we decide on a new house blend. Right now, we are working through some Sumatra Double Picked. It is a dark roast with a full body. The beans are black and greasy and it is perking me right up! Come see for yourself.
Anne with be bringing us some soup today. I’ll have to update with the flavor later.
Update: Soup is Old Fashioned Turkey with Dumpling
It was Annie Teskie-Orsted!
This saturday, we will be having another guest barista. It is my Grandparents’ 60th Wedding Anniversary so I’ve got to make the pilgrimage for that. There also might be news about the shop soon.
